Waiting for rain - tells the story of a summer of heat and drought in 2026. In East Anglia we had nine weeks without rain. This picture is a response to my experience: even I, a lover of hot weather was grateful for the rain by the time it came! Smells of petrichor and torrential rain held us hostage in a steam bath but incredibly the stoic greenery is slowly coming back. This mixed media piece has been created using monotype printing techniques incorporating acrylic paint, fibre glass mesh and copper wire.
The painting is framed in limed obeche
Framed size -30 × 50cm
