The Night Birds Chose Crimson -This piece is one of a series that I made using mono screen print as the stimulus. Born of chance happenings during the process I began to see a narrative of risk. Oddly the darkness did not feel like a sense of menace to me, in contrast there was something serene about it but the lure of the crimson seemed a place I wanted to be but would also take me out of my comfort zone. It might lead to satisfaction, achievement, joy or conversely disappointment, failure, embarrassment. I wondered if I would decide to take that leap of faith. The older I get the more I hope so.
This is a mixed media piece comprising of acrylic paint, soluble pastels, mesh and wire. It is framed in limed obeche wood.
